Assistant Professor Nermin YAÅžAR
Course Description:
This course provides a framework for analysing international economic problems and policies. It deals with the macroeconomics of open economies under various exchange-rate arrangements, and the policy problems they pose. The course will start by looking at foreign-exchange markets and at balance-of-payments and national-income accounts for an open economy.
Course Objectives:
The theory presented in this course covers a broad range of topics including exchange rate determination, monetary and fiscal policy in an open economy (that is, an economy that trades goods and assets with the rest of the world), balance of payments crises, the choice of exchange rate systems, and international debt.
